for Flood alert in force now River Chew Catchment

Flooding is possible - be prepared

The flood warning has been removed as the Winford Brook river level is falling and based on the current best available weather forecast the river level is not forecast to rise to flood warning level for the next 24 to 36 hours. However the flood alert will remain in place as there is further rainfall forecast for later on Monday 14/10/2019 and into Tuesday and rivers in the area may start to rise again. There is some uncertainty on the precise tracking and amount of predicted heavy rain but the Environment Agency Incident team are monitoring the weather and river levels and will keep the Chew Valley Flood Forum lead up to date as the situation changes. Please beware that the flood warning may need to be reissued if the heavy rain causes the river level to rise through the expected flood warning trigger level. We will keep this flood alert up to date as the weather situation changes.
