for Flood warning in force now Bristol Avon (upper) from Chippenham to Melksham

Flooding is expected - immediate action required

From the Great Somerford gauge the River Avon level is beginning to stabilise over the next 24 hours and levels are slowly dropping but this flood warning remains active. We are expecting lighter shower totals, 5 to 10 mm, throughout today 17/02/20. Consequently, flooding of property is still possible for properties at Reybridge. River levels can rise quickly in response to further rainfall. We expect river levels to remain high throughout Monday 17/02/20. Please can owners with property flood resilience equipment ensure this is in place and stay aware in case further warnings are issued. This message will be updated tonight 17/02/20, or as the situation changes.
