Flooding is expected - immediate action required
Water levels in the River Blackwater remain high and are rising. In the last 24 hours, another 17mm of rain has been recorded in Romsey. The river is unlikely to peak until lunchtime today (17/01/2020). Continued and more significant out of bank flooding affecting land and roads from Landford to Wade Bridge, especially at Wellow is expected, along with some property flooding. Showers, some heavy at times will continue today, which will keep river levels high, although they should begin to fall this afternoon. From tomorrow (18/01/2020) the weather will be dry for at least 5 days, which will give water levels a chance to recover. Alert and warning messages will then be removed. We will continue to monitor the river. Today, please ensure you can take action to protect property. This message will be updated by 12:00 on 18/01/2020.
