for Flood alert in force now River Thames and its tributaries from Days Lock to above Pangbourne

Flooding is possible - be prepared

"Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels remain high and are rising slowly on the River Thames as a result of the recent heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of low-lying roads and farmland is expected to continue, particularly in the Goring Lock area. The forecast for this evening and overnight is for mostly dry weather. We expect river levels to remain high. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are operating weirs to reduce flood risk. Please refer to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels and avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated this tomorrow morning, 18/01/20, or as the situation changes. "
