for Flood alert in force now River Thames and its tributaries from Days Lock to above Pangbourne

Flooding is possible - be prepared

Property flooding is not currently expected. We expect river levels to continue falling across all lock sites over the next 24 to 48 hours. Water levels remain out of banks along the River Thames and we expect to see the flooding of low-lying land, footpaths and roads to continue. The forecast is for clouds and light rain this morning, Sunday, which will clear away this afternoon. We will receive further rain Monday morning. River levels are generally falling, but still pose a flood risk and will rise again if we receive further rain. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our Lock Keepers are operating weirs to reduce flood risk. Please remain safe and aware of your local surroundings, avoid riverside paths and avoid contact with flood water. This message will be updated tomorrow, 24/02/20, or as the situation changes.
