Flooding is possible - be prepared

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are steady or continue to rise slowly on the River Thames following recent rainfall. Therefore, flooding of low-lying land, footpaths, tow paths and roads is expected to continue, along the entire length of the Thames from Dorchester to beyond Goring. There is the potential for further sleet or snow showers for the rest of this evening, 24/01/21, before clearing to leave a dry and very cold night and into tomorrow, 25/01/21. There is a particular risk of ice developing following today's snow. We expect river levels to begin peaking through this area tomorrow. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are operating weirs to reduce flood risk. Please remain safe and aware of your local surroundings and be particularly cautious around watercourses during icy conditions. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 25/01/21, or as the situation changes.
