for Flood alert in force now River Thames and its tributaries from Days Lock to above Pangbourne

Flooding is possible - be prepared

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels remain high on the River Thames between Days Lock and Pangbourne as a result of rainfall over the last week and high river levels upstream, but are now starting to fall slowly. Therefore, flooding of low lying road and farmland is expected to continue. The forecast is mostly dry today (20/11/19). We expect river levels to remain stable and start to fall slowly over the coming days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are operating weirs to reduce flood risk. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and refer to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated this evening, 20/11/19, or as the situation changes.
