for Flood alert in force now River Evenlode from Moreton in Marsh to Cassington and also the River Glyme at Wootton and Woodstock

Flooding is possible - be prepared

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are high on the River Evenlode and the Glyme, particularly on the Glyme near Woodstock where it is out of banks as a result of recent heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of roads and farmland is expected. The forecast is mostly dry today. The risk of flooding remains as water moves through the river systems, water levels are falling slowly, but we expect river levels to remain high over the coming days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings and avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated this evening, 17/11/2019, or as the situation changes.
