for Flood alert in force now River Cole and Dorcan Brook

Flooding is possible - be prepared

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels have fallen since this morning, but are forecast to rise again on the River Cole and Dorcan Brook as a result of a period of sustained rainfall this evening and overnight. Therefore, flooding of low-lying areas is possible later this evening (19/07/19) and overnight. Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point. Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until early tomorrow morning. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are in the area clearing weed/trash screens. Please remain safe and aware of your local surroundings and refer to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 20/07/19, or as the situation changes.
