Coronavirus (COVID-19): how we're protecting our flood warning service

for Flood alert in force now River Ivel in Hertfordshire and Central Bedfordshire

Flooding is possible - be prepared

River levels remain high at our Shefford river gauge and Arlesey river gauge as a result of persistent rainfall throughout the day yesterday. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible today, Friday, 15/01/2021. We expect flooding to affect River Ivel from Langford to Blunham, including the rivers Purwell, Hiz, Flit and Hit. No rainfall is forecast today, however further rainfall is possible tomorrow, Saturday 16/01/2021. This may result in river levels remaining high or rising again over the weekend. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated this afternoon, Friday 15 January, or as the situation changes.
