for Flood alert in force now Rivers in the Forest of Dean

Flooding is possible - be prepared

This flood alert has been issued as heavy rain is forecast overnight tonight and through tomorrow Thursday 14/11/19. There is uncertainty over the amount and location of rainfall expected. Where intense rainfall does occur, flooding of low lying land is possible. Surface water flooding may also occur. We urge you to remain vigilant, avoid walking and driving through flood water. We are monitoring the situation closely and are liaising with our professional partners. We will issue updates to this message and flood warnings if necessary. The forecast for Friday 15/11/19 is for improved weather conditions. You can monitor your local weather conditions and river levels on the GOV.UK website. Our incident response staff are checking defences and clearing weed screens. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and avoid contact with flood water. This message will be updated by 9am Thursday 14/11/19 or if the situation changes
