Coronavirus (COVID-19): how we're protecting our flood warning service

for Flood alert in force now Upper Teme

Flooding is possible - be prepared

River levels are high but falling at the Leintwardine river gauge and high but steady at the Onibury river gauge due to Storm Christoph. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected to continue. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the River Teme, River Onny and River Corve and their tributaries. Locations that may be affected include Bishops Castle, Church Stretton, Knighton and Ludlow. The Corve peaked at 3.38m, Leintwardine peaked at 2.34m and Onibury peaked at 3.05m on Thursday 21/01/21. We expect river levels to remain high for the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near local watercourses and avoid contact with flood water. This message will be updated by 11am on Saturday, 23/01/21, or as the situation changes.
