Flooding is possible - be prepared

River levels are rising at the Bewdley river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Flooding is affecting low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Highley to Tewkesbury. Locations that may be affected include Stourport, Holt Fleet, Worcester, Kempsey, Severn Stoke and Upton upon Severn, the B4195 Stourport Road at Rickets Place, Dog Lane Bewdley, the Riverside Path Stourport and the B4194 at Ribsford. The following peaks are forecast:- Bewdley of 5.1 to 5.4m on 19/02/20. Worcester of 5.6 to 5.8m on 19/02/20. Diglis of 4.8 to 5.1m on 19/02/20. Saxons Lode of 5.5 to 5.7m on 19/02/20. Scattered showers are expected over the next 24 hours with persistent rain forecast from midday Wednesday 19/02/2020. We expect river levels to remain high over the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 3am on Wednesday, 19/02/20, or as the situation changes.
