Flooding is possible - be prepared
River levels are forecast to rise on the River Severn as a result of recent heavy rainfall. Flooding is affecting properties, low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Highley to Tewkesbury. Locations that may be affected include Stourport, Holt Fleet, Worcester, Kempsey, Severn Stoke, Upton upon Severn, South Quay, Diglis Parade and Hylton Road towpath. Flooding from drains may also be affecting the racecourse and the Worcester County cricket ground. Predicted Peaks: Bewdley 3.8 to 3.9m overnight Sunday, Worcester peaked at 4.9 to 5.1m overnight Sunday, Diglis is continuing to peak at 4.7m, Kempsey Yatch Club peaked at 7.17m Saturday. Light rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high over the next few days. We are monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 7pm 17/11/19 or as the situation changes.
