Coronavirus (COVID-19): how we're protecting our flood warning service

for Flood alert in force now Lower River Derwent

Flooding is possible - be prepared

The flood alert for the Lower Derwent remains in force. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected. Areas most at risk are low lying land and roads, particularly around Buttercrambe, Stamford Bridge, Elvington and Bubwith. Flood warnings are also in force in the area. Further unsettled weather is expected from today, 27/01/2021. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and do not walk or drive through flood water. Visit the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast and current river levels. This message will be updated in the morning, or as the situation changes.
