for Flood alert in force now Upper River Ouse
Flooding is possible - be prepared
This alert remains in force as levels in the River Ouse remain high as a result of rainfall over the last few days. The level at York Viking is now 2.16m and is forecast to fall slowly through Thursday, 12/12/2019. Flooding of low lying land and riverside areas remains possible. We are closely monitoring the situation and the forecast. Areas most at risk are low lying land and riverside areas. Please plan walking, cycling and driving routes to avoid low lying roads and paths near rivers, which may be flooded. Current river levels and a 5 day forecast are available on the GOV.UK website. This message will be updated before 9pm on Thursday, 12/12/2019, or as the situation changes.
