for Flood warning in force now River Ouse at Naburn Lock

Flooding is expected - immediate action required

The flood warning for the River Ouse at Naburn Lock remains in force. This is due to high river levels following rainfall and snowmelt from the weekend. The level at York Viking recorder is 3.63m and is slowly rising, following rainfall on Monday and Tuesday. Levels at Naburn will remain high and are expected to peak at 4.4 - 4.8m on Thursday overnight. Please be aware that persistent and heavy rain is forecast until Thursday 21/01/2021. We expect levels to rise significantly. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and do not drive through flood water. Please see the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast. We are closely monitoring the situation and will update this message in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.
