Coronavirus (COVID-19): how we're protecting our flood warning service

for Flood alert in force now South Cornwall Coast from Lands End to Lizard Point

Flooding is possible - be prepared

Flooding is possible over all high tides from Monday evening 19/10/20 to Tuesday evening 20/10/20. High spring tides may cause flooding of quaysides and low-lying land in some coastal locations. During Monday, unsettled weather will increase wave heights and wind speeds. Peak tide levels may be higher than published. Southerly winds are increasing to Force 6 on Monday and may increase to Force 8 on Tuesday. Offshore wave heights are expected to peak during Tuesday. Spray and wave overtopping in exposed locations is possible. High tide at Newlyn on Monday is 19:19 and on Tuesday at 07:40 and 20:02. Tide times vary along the coast. Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of high tide. Locations affected may include Mousehole, Newlyn, Penzance and Porthleven. People are advised to take care at the coast. We will monitor the situation and issue updates as required.
