Flooding is possible - be prepared

We are currently in a period of high spring tides although they are now past the peak and are starting to recede. The winds are forecast to be light so no large waves are expected but there may be some overtopping and onshore flooding. The time and date of the first forecast high water is 21:15 on 23/03/2019. The forecast tide level is 7.57 m AOD. The forecast wind strength and direction is Force 2 East North East. The time and date of the second forecast high water is 09:30 on 24/03/2019. The forecast tide level is 7.46 m AOD. The forecast wind strength and direction is Force 2 West. Please note all tide times are in local time and are using the 24 hour clock and refer to the high water time at Avonmouth. We will be undertaking a tide watch and will ensure tide gates are closed and opened at least an hour before and after the peak tide.
