for Flood alert in force now River Ebble and tributaries

Flooding is possible - be prepared

River levels are slowly falling but remain high at the Ebbesbourne Wake river gauge as a result of the ground being saturated and reacting to previous rainfall from Storm Dennis last weekend. High groundwater levels are adding to river levels; consequently, the risk of flooding remains. Further light rainfall is forecast later on Saturday afternoon and overnight into Sunday which is likely to cause river levels on the Ebble to rise over the weekend although we are not expecting Flood Warning levels which directly affect property to be reached. We expect flooding to affect tributaries between Alvediston and Nunton. River levels can rise very quickly in response to rainfall. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and see the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast. This message will be updated on Monday 24/02/20, or as the situation changes.
