Flooding is possible - be prepared
Water levels in the River Meon remain high in the Meon villages. Water levels have fallen in the Upper Meon valley following the rainfall yesterday. Minor flooding impacts will continue to affect roads through the Meon Valley and footpaths in the Millennium Meadows at Wickham. During today and tomorrow (29/02/20) further rainfall is forecast, and a total of 14 to 19mm is expected. Unsettled conditions are expected to continue into Sunday (01/03/20). Monday (02/03/20) and Tuesday (03/03/20) are forecast to be drier. River levels will rise again today in response to the rainfall, to similar levels as yesterday. Water levels are likely to peak this evening, and will rise again tomorrow (29/02/20) in response to the further rainfall. We continue to monitor the forecast. Please remain prepared for further impacts over the next 5 days. Water levels will be much higher than normal and minor impact flooding will continue. This Flood Alert will be updated by 12:00 on Saturday 29/02/20
