Flooding is possible - be prepared

Water levels in the River Itchen remain high. 11mm of rain was recorded at Otterbourne overnight. River levels are increasing slowly in response to the overnight rainfall, and will continue to do so, during today. The remainder of the day and overnight is forecast to be dry. Tomorrow (28/02/2020) and Saturday (29/02/2020) further rainfall is forecast, a total of 16 to 25mm is expected. On Sunday (01/03/2020) and Monday (02/03/2020) it should be drier, but unsettled weather is set to return later next week. Please remain prepared for further impacts over the next 5 days, as river levels will rise and fall. Generally water levels will be much higher than normal and minor impact flooding will continue. This Flood Alert will be updated by 12:00 on Friday 28/02/2020.
