Flooding is possible - be prepared

Wednesday's morning and evening tides at 08:00 and 20:45 on 19/02/2020 have the potential to cause flood impacts. At 20:45 unsettled weather with South Westerly Force 6 winds will increase tide table values by 0.2m. The total forecast tide is 4.72 metres Chart Datum (1.92 mAOD) at Littlehampton. Tides will be 6cm lower at 08:00. For 2 hours either side of high water, the tide could overtop Climping sea front. Water will flood nearby land and fields. Climping Street and Ferry Road will be impassable. Tide heights will be increasing from Thursday 20/02/2020 and minor flood impacts may continue on each tide. We continue to monitor the forecast and may check beach condition at low tide. Shingle will likely be moved by the high water and weather.
