Flood alert for Groundwater flooding in Hambledon

Groundwater levels in Hambledon are high and slowly falling. At our borehole at Whitedale Farm, the level peaked on Monday 15/04/2024 and has since fallen by 31cm. We expect a small number of properties on Lower West Street will be affected by cellar flooding. Sewerage system impacts are expected to be ongoing and Fareham Road is currently closed. From today 18/04/2024 to Monday 22/04/2024, minimal rain is forecast. Groundwater levels are expected to continue falling slowly this week and the situation will improve. Cellar flooding impacts are expected to continue for at least the next 7 days. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. Please remain prepared for further flooding impacts as groundwater levels will be responsive to heavy rainfall. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Thursday 25/04/2024.
