Flood alert for Groundwater flooding in the Candovers and Old Alresford
Groundwater levels are high and slowly falling. In Preston Candover, the level peaked on Monday 08/04/2024 and the level has since fallen by 5cm. In Old Alresford, the level peaked on Tuesday 16/04/2024 and has since fallen by 3cm. Cellar flooding is expected to be affecting properties in the Candovers, Northington and Old Alresford. In Old Alresford, internal ground floor flooding is affecting isolated properties. Septic tanks will be struggling to operate effectively in all locations. From today 18/04/2024 to Monday 22/04/2024, minimal rain is forecast. Groundwater levels are expected to begin falling during this week and the situation will slowly improve. However, flooding impacts will continue throughout April and well into May. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operating. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Thursday 25/04/2024.
