Flood alert for Groundwater flooding in Pitton, West Tytherley, Nether Wallop and Broughton

Groundwater levels remain high. At Lopcombe Corner, the level has fallen by 1.22m in the last week. At West Tytherley, the level remains relatively stable. In central West Tytherley, cellar, land and road flooding are ongoing, while septic tanks and soakaways are struggling to operate effectively. In Pitton, groundwater is expected to be affecting the sewerage network. In Nether Wallop, Over Wallop and Broughton, flooding impacts are expected to have reduced significantly. From today 27/03/2024 to Saturday 30/03/2024, rain is forecast on each day in Hampshire. This is expected to bring between 25 and 35mm across these 4 days. The rate at which levels are falling at Lopcombe Corner are expected to slow down and levels could even stabilise. At West Tytherley, levels are expected to remain high, and internal ground floor flooding could occur if heavy rain affects the village. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operating. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Wednesday 03/04/2024.
