Flood alert for Groundwater flooding in Deane and Ashe in North Hampshire
In Deane and Ashe, groundwater levels remain high but are slowly falling. At our borehole in Oakley, the level has fallen by 14cm in the last week. Groundwater spring flows are impacting land and roads. The access road from the B3400 into Deane (at Deane Park) is closed. Septic tanks will be struggling to operate effectively. Today 16/04/2024, a small amount of rain (up to 7mm) is forecast in Hampshire. From Wednesday 17/04/2024 to Saturday 20/04/2024, minimal rain is expected. Groundwater levels are expected to continue slowly falling this week and the situation will improve. Groundwater flooding impacts are expected to continue throughout April and well into May. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operating. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Tuesday 23/04/2024.
