Coronavirus (COVID-19): how we're protecting our flood warning service

for Flood alert in force now Lower River Stour

Flooding is possible - be prepared

River levels continue to rise as a result of heavy rainfall across East Kent last night. Flooding of roads and low lying land remains possible overnight Friday 4 December into Saturday 5 December, at any riverside location on the Great Stour between Wye and Fordwich, including Canterbury. The internal flooding of property is not expected. We expect river levels to remain high over the weekend as further rain is due Saturday morning. Peak conditions may not be experienced until Sunday. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking the river and any river structures on the system. Please be careful near the river and do not drive through flood water. This Flood Alert will be updated by 10am tomorrow, Saturday 5 December.
