Flooding is possible - be prepared

Flood alert for Nailbourne and Little Stour

River levels remain high on the Little Stour and Nailbourne. Flooding is expected to continue to affect low lying land and roads along the Nailbourne around Elham, Barham, Bridge and Bekesbourne, and on the Little Stour around Littlebourne and Wickhambreux. Please avoid driving or walking through floodwater. As of today, Thursday 18th April 2024, the weather forecast is for scattered rain showers today and tomorrow, with some drier conditions expected over the weekend and into next week. We are actively monitoring the situation, liaising with partners, and our staff are maintaining and clearing key structures. The Littlebourne Flood Relief channel is operating. This message will be updated by 6pm on Thursday 25th April 2024, or as the situation changes.
