for Flood alert in force now Middle River Roding

Flooding is possible - be prepared

Persistent rain associated with Storm Dennis fell over the weekend. The water levels within the Middle Roding catchment remain high but are now falling. River levels will continue to fall throughout the night. Flooding to low-lying land, roads and riverside gardens remains possible at Abridge, Loughton and Buckhurst Hill through Tuesday 18th February and into Wednesday 19th February. Surface water flooding may also affect these areas. Some further rain is forecast during the evening of Tuesday 18th February and the rest of this week. This is not currently expected to impact river levels in this location. We will continue to monitor this incoming rainfall. We recommend you monitor local water levels and weather conditions. Consider putting your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels. We will update this message in the morning, or earlier if the situation changes.
