Flooding is possible - be prepared
During this afternoon, Sunday 25 July, we have seen heavy rainfall in the London area. Rivers have responded to this rainfall in the Waltham Forest, Waltham Abbey, Waltham Cross, Barnet, Nazeing, Enfield, Chingford, Edmonton, Cheshunt and Tottenham areas. There is likely to be flooding to low lying land and roads close to watercourses in these areas from 4pm today, Sunday 25 July. Flooding from surface water could also occur in these areas. We expect the rivers in these areas to remain high throughout this evening but no flooding to properties is currently forecast. We recommend that you take care near the areas of concern and monitor your local weather conditions. Avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. We are constantly monitoring river levels and checking rivers for blockages. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, Monday 26 July, or earlier if the situation changes.
