for Flood alert in force now Lower River Wey

Flooding is possible - be prepared

River levels have risen on the River Wey as a result of recent heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of roads and farmland is possible later this evening 16/02/2020, especially in the Guildford area. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours. We expect river levels to remain high overnight and into tomorrow 17/02/2020. A Flood Warning for the River Wey at Guildford has been issued, where flooding of properties close to the river is possible. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are in the area clearing weed/trash screens and checking defences. Please remain safe and aware of your local surroundings and refer to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 17/02/2020, or as the situation changes.
