for Flood alert in force now River Thames for Shiplake, Lower Shiplake and Wargrave

Flooding is possible - be prepared

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels have risen on the River Thames as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of roads and farmland is expected to remain possible overnight and into tomorrow 17/02/2020. Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours. We expect river levels to remain high overnight and into 17/02/2020. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff have been operating weirs to reduce flood risk and in the area checking defences. Please refer to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels and avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 17/02/2020, or as the situation changes.
