Flood alert for River Kennet and its tributaries from Berwick Bassett down to Newbury

River levels are high on the River Kennet following recent rainfall. Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected to continue through today. The weather forecast is predominantly dry today and tomorrow with a few light showers possible. River levels are expected to remain high over the coming days and will remain sensitive to further rainfall.

We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. Be aware of flood water remaining on the floodplain as river levels recede.
