Flooding is possible - be prepared

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels remain high on the River Kennet following recent rainfall from Storm Dennis particularly around Theale where the river is still close to being out of banks. The risk of flooding remains. In other parts of the River Kennet and the smaller watercourses that flow into it, the rivers are back to flowing within banks. The forecast is for clouds and light rain this morning, Sunday, which will clear, we will receive further rain Monday morning. River levels are stable but still pose a flood risk and will be sensitive to further rainfall over the coming days, water levels in the rivers are remain particularly high due to high groundwater levels in the area. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff have been in the area clearing trash screens. Please remain safe and aware of your local surroundings. This message will be updated tomorrow, 24/02/20, or as the situation changes.
