for Flood alert in force now River Lambourn and its tributaries from Upper Lambourn down to Newbury

Flooding is possible - be prepared

Property flooding is not currently expected. Water levels on the River Lambourn have been slowly rising over the past few weeks in response to high groundwater levels in the area. The weather forecast is dry overnight and tomorrow. Levels are expected to continue to rise and we expect water to remain marginally above the top of the banks in the coming days. We are constantly monitoring river levels and our staff have been out in the area checking for blockages. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings, flood waters may be deep and fast flowing. Please refer to River and Sea levels in England for current levels. This message will be updated tomorrow morning (23/05/2018) if not before.
