Flood alert for River Thame, Horsenden Stream and Chalgrove Brook

Property flooding is not currently expected.

River levels are high and rising on the River Thame following recent rainfall. Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected to continue today, 29/03/2024, especially around Thame Bridge, Stadhampton and Dorchester areas. Further heavy showers are forecast today which have the potential to be heavy at times. Overnight is forecast to be mainly dry. River levels are expected to continue rising today, especially in the Thame Bridge, Stadhampton and Dorchester areas. Levels will remain high and sensitive to further rainfall over the coming days.

We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 30/03/2024, or as the situation changes.

Flood alert area: River Thame from Marsworth to Dorchester including, Long Marston, Rowsham, North Aylesbury, Cuddington, Thame, Ickford, Wheatley, Drayton St Leonard, Overy, the Horsenden Stream at Princes Risborough and the Chalgrove Brook at Chalgrove and Stadhampton.
