for Flood alert in force now River Windrush from Bourton to Newbridge

Flooding is possible - be prepared

Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels remain high but are falling slowly on the River Windrush following Storm Dennis. The risk of flooding remains, and water is still out of banks around Witney and Newbridge. No further rain is forecast today (21/02/20). A band of cloud/light rain is forecast to cross the area overnight with showers on Saturday. River levels have been falling but are forecast to rise slightly around Whitney today as yesterdays rain makes its way through the river. The water levels along the Windrush are high and still pose a flood risk and will be sensitive to further rainfall over the coming days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff have been in the area checking defences and clearing trash screens. Please remain safe and aware of your local surroundings and refer to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated Saturday, or as the situation changes.
