for Flood alert in force now River Windrush from Bourton to Newbridge
Flooding is possible - be prepared
Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are high but slowly dropping on the River Windrush following this week's heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of low lying roads, paths and farmland is expected to continue over the coming days, especially in the Newbridge area. The forecast is for rain to clear late this morning (16/01/21), leaving a dry afternoon and night. River levels are expected to continue slowly dropping, but may rise again in response to further rainfall over the coming days. We are monitoring the situation. Please remain safe and aware of your local surroundings, avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses, and refer to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. This message will be updated tomorrow, 17/01/21, or as the situation changes.
