Coronavirus (COVID-19): how we're protecting our flood warning service

for Flood alert in force now Minor Watercourses from Heighington to Dunston

Flooding is possible - be prepared

Over the last few weeks we have seen heavy rainfall in the North Kesteven area. This caused groundwater levels to rise, which can lead to flooding of low lying land and roads close to rivers. We expect levels to continue to remain high throughout today, Monday 25th January, and for the next few days, in response to the rising groundwater. Flooding to properties is not likely, and therefore flood warnings are not expected to be issued at this time. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses, and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. We are constantly monitoring river levels, and have staff in the field checking for blockages and clearing trash screens. This message will be updated on Tuesday, 26th January, or as the situation changes.
