Flooding is possible - be prepared
The levels in the Barlings Eau, Stainfield Beck and Duckpool Catchwater are falling, however they remain above normal. This will continue to cause risk of flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river. Our forecasts indicate that flooding to properties is not likely. Environment Agency staff are preparing for works linked to the breach at Short Ferry, however, these higher water levels may cause some delay in this starting. We are monitoring river levels, and have staff in the field checking for blockages and clearing weedscreens. Do not walk on flood banks and please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses, which may be flooded. This message will be updated on Friday, 6th December, or as the situation changes.
