for Flood alert in force now Barlings Eau and Duckpool Catchwater

Flooding is possible - be prepared

River levels are now steadily receding. No further significant rainfall is forecast over the next few days. We are continuing to closely monitor the situation, especially where defences have known damage. Environment Agency contractors have repaired the breached banks at Short Ferry, and pumps are continuing to operate to remove the water from the land. Short Ferry road will remain closed until further notice and subject to decision by the Highways Authority. Do not walk on flood banks and please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses, which may be flooded. We will update this message on Saturday 25th January, or as the situation changes.
