for Flood alert in force now Hundred Foot Washes in Cambridgeshire and Norfolk

Flooding is possible - be prepared

River levels are rising at the Welney Causeway and Sutton Gault river gauges after heavy rainfall. Consequently, the risk of flooding is increasing. We expect flooding to affect the Hundred Foot Washes, also known as the Ouse Washes, including the causeways at Earith, Sutton Gault and Welney. This information is correct as of 07:00 on Sunday 15th of December 2019. The causeway at Welney has approximately 16 centimetres of water on the road and the causeway at Sutton Gault has approximately 33 centimetres of water on the road. Due to the uneven surface of the roads, water may be deeper in places. There are currently no issues on the Earith Causeway. Further showers are forecast over the next 24 hours. Our incident response staff are monitoring the situation. Please avoid contact with flood water. This message will be updated by 16:00 on 15/12/2019, or as the situation changes.
