for Flood alert in force now Hundred Foot Washes in Cambridgeshire and Norfolk

Flooding is possible - be prepared

River levels have risen at the Sutton Gault, Welney and Earith river gauges as a result of persistent rainfall in the upper catchment. We expect flooding to affect the Hundred Foot Washes, including the causeways at Sutton Gault, Welney and Earith. This information is correct as of 15:30 on Friday 17 January. The causeway at Sutton Gault has approximately 58 centimetres of water on the road. The causeway at Welney has approximately 53 centimetres of water on the road. There is water on the causeway at Earith. Due to the uneven surface of the roads, water may be deeper in places. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid contact with flood water. This message will be updated by 08:00 on Saturday 18 January or as the situation changes.
