Coronavirus (COVID-19): how we're protecting our flood warning service

for Flood alert in force now Hundred Foot Washes in Cambridgeshire and Norfolk

Flooding is possible - be prepared

River levels are high at the Sutton Gault, Welney and Earith river gauges. Flooding of low lying roads and farmland is expected. We expect flooding to affect the Hundred Foot Washes, also known as the Ouse Washes, including the causeways at Sutton Gault, Welney and Earith. This information is correct as of 15:00 on Friday 22nd January. The causeway at Sutton Gault has approximately 68 cm of water on the road. The causeway at Welney has approximately 74cm of water on the road, and the causeway at Earith has water on the road. Due to the uneven surface of the roads, water may be deeper in places. No further heavy rainfall is forecast. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, Saturday 23rd January, or as the situation changes.
