Flooding is possible - be prepared
River levels are forecast to rise at the Gainsborough river gauge as a result of high spring tides coinciding with high river levels. Flooding is possible on high tides at 09:30 AM on Saturday 23/03/2019 and at 10:00 PM on Saturday 23/03/2019 from Cromwell Weir to Gainsborough. Areas most at risk are Lea Marsh, Gainsborough, Morton, East and West Stockwith, Trent Wharfage and Gainsborough Railway Bridge. The areas of Church Laneham to Rampton road are also at risk. We are closely monitoring the situation and we expect peak tides may remain high into Sunday 24/03/2019. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and closing locks and flood gates. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated this afternoon, 23/03/2019, or as the situation changes.
