for Flood warning in force now River Trent at Newark for riverside properties

Flooding is expected - immediate action required

River levels are high but falling at the Farndon and Colwick river gauges as a result of recent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property is expected to continue. Areas most at risk are Newark Riverside Properties. Further rainfall is forecast today (19/02/2020) and tomorrow (20/02/2020). We expect river levels to remain high for the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and liaising with emergency services. Please have a bag ready with vital items like medicines and insurance documents, move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety, and turn off gas, electricity and water. This message will be updated in 8 hours, or as the situation changes.
