Flooding is possible - be prepared
River levels are still high and steady at the Lilbourne river gauge. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected to continue today Friday 17/01/2020. Flooding is affecting low-lying land and roads adjacent to River Avon between Stanford and Rugby, River Swift between Cosford and Rugby and Clay Coton Brook between Yelvertoft and Lilbourne. Showers are forecast today and then the next few days should be cold and dry. We expect river levels to rise slightly in response to these showers. Our incident response staff are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and bridges near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated later today, Friday 17/01/2020, or as the situation changes.
