for Flood alert in force now Severn estuary from Gloucester to Sharpness

Flooding is possible - be prepared

River levels have risen as a result of a combination of high tides and heavy rainfall. Flooding to low lying roads and farmland is possible two to four hours either side of the high tide. Flooding may affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the Severn in the Gloucester area. High tides may also affect watercourses draining into the Severn. The predicted peak at Sandhurst is expected to be between 3.3 m to 3.5 m on this evening’s tide. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
