Coronavirus (COVID-19): how we're protecting our flood warning service

for Flood alert in force now Kempsey Village

Flooding is possible - be prepared

River levels continue to rise at the Kempsey Yacht Club river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected to continue. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and Squires walk in the area of the Hatfield Brook Kempsey. Kempsey Flood Alleviation scheme is now in operation. Predicted peak:- Kempsey Yacht Club 6.6m to 7.0m on Friday evening, 22/01/21. Further scattered rainfall is expected over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high over the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 09:00am, Friday 22/01/21, or as the situation changes.
