Flooding is possible - be prepared
River levels are high but slowly falling at the Tern - Walcot, Yeaton and Rodington river gauges as a result of recent rainfall. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. Flooding is affecting low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Wolverley to Newport. Other locations that may be affected include Market Drayton, Wem and Rodington. Further rainfall is forecast over the next few days which may cause a renewed rise at the Yeaton gauge on Saturday 22/02/20. We expect river levels to remain high over the weekend and into next week. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 4pm, Friday 21/02/20 or as the situation changes.
