Flooding is possible - be prepared

River levels are forecast to rise at the Crew Green river gauge as a result of persistent rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected today, 31/10/20. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent the river from Shrewsbury to Upper Arley. Locations that may be affected are White Abbey. River Severn bankfull at White Abbey. Predicted Peaks: Crew Green 5.2m to 5.4m early tomorrow morning 01/11/20, currently no impacts are expected at other gauge locations. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until 03/11/20. Further forecast rainfall over the weekend may see a secondary peak. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
