Flooding is expected - immediate action required

River levels remain high at the Llanymynech and Cae Howel river gauges following Storm Dennis. Flooding of property, roads and farmland continues. Flooding is affecting properties and roads in and around Maesbrook. Llanymynech peaked at 5.05m on Sunday 16/02/20, Cae Howel peaked at 6.11m on Monday 17/02/2020. Scattered showers are expected this morning with further prolonged rainfall forecast this afternoon and overnight 19/02/20. We expect river levels to remain high for the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 5pm on Wednesday 19/02/20, or as the situation changes.
