Flooding is expected - immediate action required
River levels remain high and are steady at the Haw Bridge river gauge. Flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected to continue in and around Ashleworth, Apperley and the Leigh. Levels peaked on Thursday, 27/02/2020 at 5.34m at Haw Bridge. This is slightly lower than the peak level last week. Further rainfall is forecast on Friday and Saturday, and consequently we expect river levels to remain high. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying land near rivers and avoid contact with flood water. This message will be updated by 6pm on Friday, 28/02/20, or as the situation changes.
