for Flood warning in force now River Severn at Hanley Castle and Saxons Lode

Flooding is expected - immediate action required

River levels remain high at the Saxons Lode river gauge and may begin to rise in the next 12 hours as a result of recent heavy rainfall. Flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected to continue. Flooding may be affecting property and roads in and around Hanley Castle and Saxons Lode. A Predicted peak at Saxons Lode of between 5.3m and 5.6m is expected on Thursday, the 27/02/20, which will be similar to those seen last week. Further rainfall is expected over the next 12 hours which may cause river levels to remain high for the rest of the week. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and avoid contact with flood water. This message will be updated by 9am on Monday, the 24/02/20, or as the situation changes.
