for Flood warning in force now River Severn in North Worcester

Flooding is expected - immediate action required

River levels are rising slowly at the Worcester (Barbourne) river gauge, as a result of recent rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected to continue. Flooding is likely to affect Newport Street, Park View Terrace, The Butts and King Stephen's Mount, the A449 North Quay, Croft Road, Hylton Road Gyratory and Tybridge Street and A44 New Road. A predicted peak at Worcester (Barbourne) of between 5.6 to 5.9m is expected on Wednesday evening, 26/02/2020, which is similar to levels seen last week. The forecast remains unsettled, which may cause river levels to remain high. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services and actively monitoring the weather forecast. Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and avoid using low lying footpaths near watercourses. This message will be updated by 1am on Wednesday, 26/02/2020, or as the situation changes.
