for Flood warning in force now River Severn in North Worcester

Flooding is expected - immediate action required

River levels continue to rise at the Worcester (Barbourne) river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected to continue. We expect flooding to affect Newport Street, Park View Terrace, The Butts and King Stephen's Mount. The A449 North Quay, Croft Road, Hylton Road Gyratory and Tybridge Street and A44 New Road. Predicted Peak:- Worcester 5.4m to 5.8m Saturday afternoon 23/01/21. No further significant rainfall is forecast over the next 24 to 48 hours. We expect river levels to remain high throughout the weekend. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid contact with flood water. This message will be updated by 10am on Saturday 23/01/21, or as the situation changes.
